The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries partnered with NusaFloat to build a floating dock supporting the daily activities of the fishing community in Labuan Bajo, NTT. Built on NusaFloat's modular floating platform, the dock provides a safe berthing and landing point that adapts to changing tides while staying durable in an active marine environment.

Challenge

  • Fishermen require floating docks that can be accessed and used seasonally according to fishing periods.
  • Installation sites are subject to significant tidal changes, demanding stable and safe platforms.
  • Loading and unloading activities are often hampered by limited access and expensive permanent infrastructure.

Result

  • Modular floating dock enables quick installation and dismantling without heavy machinery, perfectly adapting to local needs.
  • Platform remains stable during extreme tidal changes, ensuring safer and smoother handling operations.
  • Maintenance and installation costs are significantly lower compared to conventional docks, with zero environmental impact.
